Ecosystem Integrity Fund Raises $250-Million Fourth Fund

EIF IV has made six investments towards Series-A and B rounds for high-growth, early-stage clean energy, mobility, and consumer-facing sustainable companies

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – July, 13 2021 – Ecosystem Integrity Fund (EIF), a leading sustainability-focused early growth stage investment firm, has announced the close of its fourth fund near $250 million in commitments.  This is one of the largest sustainability-focused venture funds to date for 2021.

The fundraising exceeds its original $200 million target.  Investor participation includes high-quality, impact-focused limited partners including Haniel, TVA Asset Retirement Trust, Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, and Spring Point Partners, among other institutions, foundations, and family office.  Together with its first three funds, EIF now manages over $425 million of assets.  The EIF team has been investing in sustainability solutions for over a decade, making it one of the longest tenured environmentally focused venture capital funds.

EIF IV has made six investments thus far.  Investments include: Ampersand (electric moto-taxis), Energicity (solar-powered community grids), ThinkIQ (digital manufacturing), Unagi (electric scooters), Vericool (sustainable coolers and packaging) and ZeroAvia (hydrogen-electric aviation).

The fund’s investment focus areas include renewable energy, power grid management, energy efficiency, electric/efficient transportation, green chemistry, waste reduction, agriculture, and sustainable foods. Much of EIF’s portfolio focuses directly on climate change and has long-term impacts on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing climate change adaptation.

“We are proud of our track record as a fund and the excellent work being done by our portfolio companies,” said James Everett, managing partner, Ecosystem Integrity Fund. “At EIF, we identify systems that are ready to change and partner with companies positioned to catalyze more sustainable systems across large industries.”
